Last week was the Bout of Books 6.0 Read-a-thon, but since I was working full-time and attending a training on Sunday I didn't get much reading done :-/
However, I got inspired by all the pumpkin we had at home so I became a real kitchen fairy: I baked some pumpkin pie muffins, pumpkin spice cookies with cinnamon whipped cream, and even made some Indian dahl for lunch :-)
But culinary accomplishments aside, here is what I have read in the past week:
Books I completed
I loved Barbara Wallace's previous novel and so I started with high expectations, especially as I heard this was a modern-day Cinderella/My Fair Lady retelling and I just love those. The story was a bit different from what I was expecting and maybe it would have been better if my expectations hadn't mislead me. But a nice story nonetheless, and my review will be posted very soon. This was a lovely smexy New Year's Eve short romance, I enjoyed it a lot, and will definitely keep my eye on Linda Morris. ;-) My detailed review will be posted soon.
I first got intrigued by this book when I glimpsed its alluring cover (see the scales on her shoulder and the flaming dragon in her palm?), and the blurb sounds equally captivating, I can't start to read it! :-D
