A lot of thought goes in to creating characters readers will root for and want to become for a little while. As a visual person, I like to start with pictures. Meet the characters of , my debut release with Entangled’s Indulgence line.



Noah Blake, graduated with an MBA from Columbia and is the CEO of the family owned Double Shot bar conglomerate. He was born and raised in Manhattan and has that sexy NY accent. But he’s also known as The Patron Saint of Assholes if you listen to his best friend’s little sister and arch nemesis, Ashlyn. Noah is 6 ‘1 or thereabouts, dark hair, dark eyes and has a killer derrière. His loyalty to his best friend is admirable and he never breaks a promise, especially if it means always looking out for said friend’s baby sis.




Ashlyn Carter, up-and-coming playwright with a lot to prove, not only to herself, but her father who’s on the brink of taking her inheritance away if she can’t prove she can support herself as a writer. She was born and raised in the Dallas ‘burbs, is 5’7, red hair, blue eyes and resents Noah’s constant meddling in her life. She’s in for the shock of her life when she discovers her arch enemy is the key to unlocking her writers block and saving The Marshall Theater from bankruptcy.




Noah’s widowed step-mother and the one constant, steadying force in his life. She’s also a mother-figure to Ashlyn. Babs is rough around the edges, wears too much make up and speaks in a very abrupt manner. She’s dark haired and dark eyed. Though the pic of Melissa Leo above is blonde and not black, this is exactly how I see her.




Ashlyn’s devil-may-care brother and Noah’s BFF. He’s a techie genius who lives in Seattle and has patented a line of surveillance equipment.




Sassy costume designer for The Marshall Theater and Ashlyn’s best friend, this girl says exactly what’s on her mind.




Owner and director of The Marshall Theater. Does Jeff Bridges not look like the perfect eclectic regional Texas theater owner? He looks a little bit crazy but also sensitive—the perfect combination to elevate a young playwright to do her best work. All he’s missing here is the Lucas Marshall signature bolo tie.
