I often get asked how I invent my characters. Truth is I don't. They find me every single time, something I never understood until I started writing.

I was travelling home from Christmas holidays a couple of years ago and had just finished tapping notes into my iPhone about a story that ended being published as when another character prodded me in the back demanding to be heard.

Magnus had a story to tell. He is your typical arrogant rich city business man that has a dark secret that has shaped him into the unhappy person he is. He has always had a dream, to move back to the country and take over his grandfathers farm.

The only hiccup in his plans is the lack of water on his land and the refusal of the neighbor to sell their property. The biggest dam in the area is just over his fence and he needs it. Never one to let go of something easily, Magnus goes on the hunt to find the chink in the neighbors armor and makes her an offer she can't refuse. Water rights for a year in exchange for enough money to keep the bank from repossessing Kate's family home. But when he meets her Magnus adds the clause of becoming his mistress for six months.

Kate is a feisty female that will do anything to save the home she loves and the people who work for her. Magnus is good looking, turns out to be great in bed so how hard can it be to put up with him for six months?

But Kate learns about the man behind the facade and falls in love with him and can't see herself letting him go after her time is up.

I love to see how characters grow and to find out what makes them the way they are. It is a journey for me as well as the reader because I never plot my stories, they just happen as I write.

Ann swears she was born with a book in her hand and has never put it down. A lifelong love of reading has finally culminated in achieving her dream of writing…and publication.

She lives in the middle of the desert in Australia in a small mining town with her own handsome hero of many years. Ann has always loved the ups and downs of life in small communities and she shares this with readers in her rural romances.

Strong, spunky heroines with a good dose of sass thrown in feature in her stories. Of course these women need an equally strong hero. Bring on the Outback hero and watch the passion ignite.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking her very large dog, Hugo, and fighting with her computer.

Is Kate prepared to trade six months as Magnus' mistress to save the home and people she loves?

The death of Kate's mother sends her father on a gambling spree that he keeps hidden from his family. When the will is read after his death she finds out how bad things are and can see no way out, except one.

In a desperate attempt to save her home and the people she loves, Kate offers her neighbour water rights to the largest dam in the area that also happens to be on her land. What follows is an introduction to a world of passionate sex that she doesn't want to give up after the contract ends. Kate also didn't expect to fall in love with him.

Magnus is intrigued with Kate after years of having women drop at his feet and granting him his every desire. On a whim, he adds an extra clause to the contract—she is to be his mistress for six months.
