To celebrate my blogoversary I invited some of my favourite authors. But today's guest is doubly special because not only is she one of the nicest persons I know, but at the same time she is a gun-carrying serious army officer! So please give it up for the lovely Jessica Scott, who will tell you about the importance of anniversaries and present you with a terrific giveaway! ;-)
So happy to be here celebrating Stella's blogoversary! Anniversaries are so important and as a soldier, I never realized how important they were until I started missing them.
My character Sergeant First Class Garrison knows full well how missing anniversaries can impact a marriage. My debut novel opens with Shane receiving divorce papers but he's so focused in the war and preparing his soldiers for it, he barely blinks at the dissolution of his marriage. He recognizes that much of it is his fault and part of his reticence at getting involved with Jen involves how much of the blame he shoulders for the failure of his first marriage.
In , the follow up to , Shane is determined to make their first Valentine's day a special one. Jen doesn't understand the big deal but because Shane knows how badly he screwed up in the past, he's determined not make the same mistakes again.
Both books take a hard look at the life that soldiers lead and the impact of the war on those who love them. It's a reminder for me to make all anniversaries count when you have them, so today for Stella's anniversary, I'm giving away copies of all 4 of my books!
Oprah has called her. True story.

As their love grows, so does the risk to Jen’s life. And Shane must make the toughest decision any man can make to save the woman he loves.
